Spilt Milk: In Conversation with Ellis King
Join artist Ellis King at SQFT: Space Gallery during Frieze Week for an informal walkthrough and conversation around Spilt Milk, her debut London solo exhibition.
Ellis will talk through the ideas and experiences behind the new body of self-portraiture, exploring themes of shame, failure, anger, vulnerability and the things women are often encouraged to minimise or simply move on from. The conversation will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions and spend time with the exhibition.
Saturday 17 October, 1–2pm
SQFT: Space Gallery, 95 Bell Street, London
The gallery will be open to visitors from 11am–4pm. The talk is free, but places are limited to 20 and booking is required.
Private Viewing Day — Spilt Milk
Join Ellis King at SQFT: Space Gallery on Saturday 24 October for a private viewing of Spilt Milk.
Throughout the day, Ellis will be available for individual appointments with collectors and those considering a work from the exhibition. This is an opportunity to spend time with the paintings away from the crowds, talk through the work personally with Ellis, and take a closer look at the ideas and drawings behind the collection.
Each original painting from Spilt Milk is accompanied by its original conception drawing — the first visual thinking that formed the starting point for the finished work.
Appointments are available between 11am and 4pm and can be arranged for individuals or couples.
